Building on the introduction to RE covered on E02, this training is focused on the concept of RAM analysis and its value to the maintenance engineer. Generally the goal is to increase the mean time between failures (MTBF) and reduce the mean time between repair (MTTR). The challenge occurs when constraints such capital and or operational expenditures limit what can be achieved.
Understand the relevant definitions and principles.
Introduce the concept of the RAM triangle and how to meet target “A”.
Understand the role of the maintenance engineer with respect to managing MTBF and MTTR.
Demonstrate by example how RAM techniques can be used to drive maintenance planning.
Understand the benefits and limitations of RAM software modelling.
